Dry Skin & Natural Skin Care Recipes
If you are one of those many people who have dry skin you will know how difficult it can be to find something that will effectively moisturize and soften your skin. Dry skin can often crack, become painful and is often prone to infection. Ensuring that your skin is soft and supple can be a never ending task and it is surprising how much moisturizer you can go through. One of the down sides of using natural skin care recipes is that they do not last very long, often only a day, but more usually a couple of days. If you have dry skin it is relatively easy to produce your own moisturizer using ingredients from your kitchen, in such amounts that there is hardly any waste.
Honey is wonderful for the skin and it is included in many natural skin care recipes. Known to have excellent healing properties honey can be mixed with bananas to make a superb skin softener. All you need to do is mash a banana, mix in a little honey, apply it to your face and leave it for about ten minutes. After rinsing with clean water you will immediately notice how soft and supple your skin has become. This simple natural skin care recipe is excellent and one of the easiest to make but it also has the advantage that any left will keep for up to a week in the refrigerator.
Natural Skin Care Recipes For Other Skin Types
Oily Skin
There are a number of natural ingredients that are extremely effective when used on oily skin. Again honey and fruit can be used and incredible masks can be made from apples or strawberries. Like the recipe above all you need to do is to mash the fruit and mix in a little honey.
Using natural skin care recipes to make home made skin scrubs can be a little problematic as you need to take extra special care to ensure that the resulting product is not too coarse. Finely ground walnuts are an excellent abrasive because they can become slightly soft, but sufficiently abrasive, when mixed with some plain yogurt. All you need to do is mix together an equal amount of each, wet your face, gently massage the mixture into the skin and then rinse with water.
Normal Skin
If you have normal skin, lucky you, then you will find that you will not need to use anything too powerful. In the case of skin scrubs you should use natural skin care recipes that include oatmeal or cornmeal. Simply make a paste by mixing the oatmeal with sufficient plain yogurt, apply to damp skin and massage gently, finally rinsing with water. Oatmeal has some wonderful properties and is extremely useful if you are prone to suffering allergies.
Oatmeal can be used with other ingredients, such as peaches (which smell lovely), to make very good cleaners. If mixing it with a peach you should make sure that you cook the peach until it is soft enough to mash easily. Honey can be added to this recipe which should be applied to the skin and left for about ten minutes before rinsing with clean water.
We hope to include many natural skin care recipes on this site so watch out for them appearing soon.
